Loan Period and Fines
The loan period for printed books and audiobooks is three weeks.
For videos (VHS & DVD), music and magazines is one week.
The fine for overdue books is 25¢ per item for everyday the item is overdue. Remember, you can renew your items online through the catalogue function (click on "My Account") or over the phone during business hours. Our after-hours book drop is located on the east side of the building.

Families in Need Program
For families in need funding is contributed in part by community organizations and concerned patrons to provide your family with one renewal membership or a one year membership at the Olds Municipal Library.

What is damage?
The biggest threat to any book is water! Water creates mold and mildew which seriously damage books; one book with a small water stain can threaten the entire collection as mold can and will travel between books - even those without water damage. Please keep your books nice and dry, and if you do get them wet, please let the library know upon return.
Other damages may include, but alas are not limited to, writing (unless, of course, it's the author's signature!), stains, bent and broken spines, curled covers, missing pages and chewed corners.
If you return your book in damaged condition, you will be charged with the replacement cost of the book.
