Computer Usage and WiFi Space
The Olds Municipal Library has seven computers available free of charge to all members of the community - be they Library card holders or not. We also have a resource computer for the use of those wishing to do business, school work, research, job work or private work.
All users must register at the front desk upon arrival. Users may call ahead to book a spot, or drop in; users may book up to one hour per day, although times can be extended as demand allows.

The Olds Municipal Library is also a WiFi hotspot! Bring in your laptop and ask at the front desk for a username and password. Each username and password is good for one hours usage and may be renewed as many times as needed - just ask for a new one.

Please be aware that the Olds Municipal Library honours Freedom from Censorship. All computer usage is at the discretion of the user; we install no language or content filters, nor supervise usage. Children under 16 who wish to use our computers may do so, but require an "Internet Access Card" and permission form to be signed for, in person at the library, by their parent or guardian. The child is required to carry his or her "Internet Access Card" and show it upon request to a library member of staff to allow computer usage.

Canadian National Institute of the Blind
As a member of the CNIB the Olds library is able to provide a number of materials for persons with print disabilities. These include those with visual impairments, physical disabilities keeping them from holding a book, and reading disorders such as dyslexia.
The library has access to a number of Braille materials and in addition to audiobooks on cassette and CD, we have a wide variety of CNIB CD's available for patrons to listen to via a special DAISY Player. We currently have two DAISY readers available to library patrons, on a three week loan period. Patrons must first register at the library by signing a loan agreement form which will be kept on file for their future use.
