Not only is it an essential mental health escape, but studies also show that students who read over the summer months retain 80% more of their knowledge from previous years. (abstract) We want to encourage students and adults alike to continue reading and learning through competitions and activity kits over the summer months.
This year’s summer reading challenges are themed with Around the World. We will be celebrating diversity in all its forms through challenges, reading picks, and activity kits for all ages. We will be allowing readers who reach certain milestones the opportunity to earn tickets toward draws displayed online and in the library. To make our summer a big hit, we are looking for your support. Donations will be used toward the purchase of prizes and materials for activity kits. (Click the image above to donate).
